Our Mission…

At Cornerstone Church we have one purpose…

CHANGING lives by LEADING people into a GROWING relationship with Jesus Christ.

Everything we do revolves around Jesus’ instructions to go and make disciples and to love our neighbors as ourselves.

Who We Are…

Cornerstone Church is a United Methodist Church reaching the communities of West Chester, Liberty Township, & Fairfield. Our desire is to help one another more fully follow Jesus Christ through worship, small-groups, and missions. Wherever you are in life, you matter, and you have a purpose. Discovering that purpose is an often confusing or overwhelming journey. With a strong community of friends, you can laugh, grow, and serve with people who are all on that same journey together.

We believe being a part of a church community is a decision for the whole family. That’s why we partner with parents to help raise the next generation to become followers of Christ and take their next steps in their relationship with God. At Cornerstone, your children and teens have opportunities on Sunday morning and throughout the week to grow relationships with each other and with God.

We are passionate about serving the global community and demonstrating God’s love to others. Whether individually or in groups, in our church and around the world, we are focused on supporting and engaging in relationships that provide hope and meaning to a hurting world.

How do we accomplish our mission?

We believe as we grow in relationship with Jesus, we develop 5 distinct habits of discipleship. None of these habits are developed easily or quickly, but rather over time and alongside others who can help us along the way, as well as those we can help. Our goal is always to help you take the next step…

Grow

Grow

Growth happens in relationship. Our greatest desire is for you to be known here at Cornerstone Church. If you are struggling with questions of faith, there are people right along side you asking the same questions, and seeking answers. If you are going through a rough season in life, there is a dedicated community ready to offer prayer and support. We want all believers to grow closer in their relationship to God through His son Jesus Christ.

Serve

Serve

The bible speaks frequently about the connection between faith and works. Our service is an overflow of the hope we have discovered in the gospel of Jesus Christ. We believe everyone matters to God, which means it becomes our responsibility to use our gifts and talents to grow the Kingdom of God. Service at Cornerstone happens in three areas: in our church, community, and world. There are a variety of opportunities to serve on ministry teams within our walls, beyond our walls, as well as multiple mission trips each year in order to help you put your faith into action.

Bring

Bring

We believe God uses relationships to change each of us for the better, and the reality is that we don’t experience relationships when we’re sitting in rows. Learning together is an important first step, but it’s not the only step. When you’re fully involved in the life of a church, God uses other people to help you grow, and he uses you to help grow other people. Jesus doesn’t want the church to be an exclusive club. He wants everyone to know him and follow him. So we think it’s vital that as we become fully engaged in church, we invest in unchurched people in our lives. That doesn’t mean that we treat them as projects. It means that we genuinely care about them, get to know what’s happening in their lives, and, when the time is right, invite them to take an appropriate next step toward Jesus.

What We Believe…

  • We believe people matter to God, therefore they matter to us. (Luke 19:10)
  • We believe the church must be culturally relevant while remaining doctrinally pure. (1 Corinthians 9:19-23)
  • We believe prayer is the life-breath of all ministry. (Philippians 4:6)
  • We believe the Bible is the guiding Word for all preaching and teaching. (II Tim. 3:16-17)
  • We believe in glorifying God through public and personal praise and worship. (Psalm 42:1-2, 150)
  • We believe in a shared sense of community involving both family and small groups. (Acts 2:42-47)
  • We believe growth in a relationship with Christ is normal for every believer and results in a life of joyful service. (II Corinthians. 10:5b; II Tim. 2:15)
  • We believe that leadership must be Christ-like in order to fulfill our mission. (Matthew 5)
  • We believe that we will do all things with our best effort to honor God and inspire people. (Colossians 3:23)
